In order to take this program, students must be:

   1. A high school graduate, (or 19 years of age and out of school for 1 year).

   2. Be fluent in English.

   3. Pass our entrance test. 

The textbooks that will be required for this program are Milady's Standard Fundamentals for Estheticians textbook, workbook and exam review. Students will also be using Milady's Nail Technician textbook, workbook and exam review.

The majority of equipment required for this program will be provided in the student's kit. For the first day of classes please come with pen, pencil, paper, highlighter and binder. Electronic and larger equipment such as steamers, magnification lights, dremels, wax pots, UV lights etc. will be provided by Tru Spa.

The Fundamental Aesthetics Program is 6 months (800 hrs) in duration. Each day will consist of 7.5 hrs except Fridays, which will be 5.5 hrs. Students will be required to study Milady's Standard Fundamentals Work Book. Students will be expected to do 2 hrs of study at home each evening.

The delivery of this program will be by an instructor who will explain each chapter individually, summarize, review and provide a test to the students. In the afternoon demonstration and/ or supervise students activities and testing. Each day will consist of approx. 3.5 hrs of theory and 4 hrs of practicum, Fridays will be primarily practicum.

At the completion of this program students will be able to find work as a Certified Aesthetician.

Tru Spa requires a minimum of 75% on the final written exam to pass. There are no rewrites on tests taken during the program, but if a student fails the final exam they will be allowed one rewrite opportunity. Students will receive disciplinary notice if their academic challenge tests are below 75%, do not follow school rules or do not pay tuition payments.

Tru Spa Institute of Aesthetics ltd. will provide students with a professional uniform and shoes that you are required to wear each day. It is the student's responsibilities to make sure the uniform is clean and free of any strong odor each day. You will receive 2 tops and one pair of pants for the 6 months of your program. Extra uniforms are available at student's expense.
